💰 WHAT THIS WEEK'S $300K+ ROLES HAVE IN COMMON

Twelve roles on this week's board top out above $300k, and only four of them are engineering jobs. The rest are a sales manager, two solutions roles, an enterprise account executive, a product marketing director, a VP of finance, an employment lawyer, and a head of operations. Seven of the twelve are individual contributors. If you've been assuming the top of the remote market is reserved for people who write code or run big teams, this week's list says otherwise. Lined up next to each other, these twelve share a few traits you might want to pay attention to.

They sit next to the money or the risk

Airtable's strategic accounts manager, Grafana's enterprise AE, and the solutions roles at NVIDIA and Cisco all carry a number. The security engineers at OpenAI and Databricks are paid to stop the kind of breach that ends up in the news. Pinterest's employment counsel and Engine's VP of finance keep the company out of trouble it can't afford. In every case, the employer can put a dollar figure on what something going wrong costs, and the salary is priced against it. If your work is three steps removed from revenue or risk, the posting will top out lower no matter how good you are at it. Moving closer to either one is the fastest lever on your ceiling.

The title names a specialty

None of the twelve is a generalist. The titles say Supercomputing, Agentic Security Engineering, Vulnerability Management, Strategic Accounts, Labor & Employment, Data Stewardship, Containers. The company already knows the exact problem it's hiring for, and it will pay a premium for the person who has solved that problem before over the person who could probably figure it out. Your resume headline and your LinkedIn title should name a problem you own rather than a function you belong to. "Security engineer" puts you in a crowd. "Vulnerability management at scale" puts you on a short list.

The range is really two jobs

Look at the spreads. Veeam lists $200k to $512k. NVIDIA lists $184k to $356k. Pinterest lists $178k to $367k. Some of it is of course location-based. However, there's another factor: the bottom of those ranges is a solid $100k+ remote job that a strong generalist can land. The top is reserved for the candidate who matches the niche exactly and can prove it. It's the same posting and the same title, with a $150k gap decided by whether you walk in as a good fit or as the specialist they wrote the job description around. When you apply to a wide range, decide which of the two jobs you're applying for, and if it's the top one, build the case for it: the specific systems you've run and the deals you've closed, with numbers attached.

Roles like these tend to close within days. If you want to be in front of them the moment they post, JobCopilot watches the board and applies to matching $100k+ roles on your behalf, so your time goes into making the case above instead of refreshing job boards.

Keep applying,
